Product description

This recall involves children's novelty watches with butterfly charms as part of the watch band. The product was sold under the brand Novelty Watches and can be identified by SKU numbers 908568 and 899384, or by UPC codes 0305 0621 6230 and 0305 0622 8455.

Hazard identified

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the charms on the watch contain lead in excess of the allowable limit. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these watches.

Approximately 4,081 of the recalled products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from November 2007 to December 2008.
