This recall involves the following products:

Striped long-sleeved, hooded fleece sweatshirt with neck drawstring pink and mauve striped with a dog printed on it 428019KG
black and white striped with a dog printed on it
Short-sleeved, hooded, tunic-length fleece sweatshirt with a decorative cord in the hood and a waist drawstring aqua blue (turquoise) with the word 'HI' printed on it 427025G
grey with the word 'HI' printed on it

Hazard identified

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that drawstrings on children's upper outerwear can become caught on playground equipment, fences or other objects and result in strangulation, or in the case of vehicles, in the child being dragged.

Neither Health Canada nor No Excess Inc. has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.

3,562 recalled sweatshirts were sold at L'Aubainerie stores.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold between July 2013 and January 2014.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately remove the drawstring from the garment to eliminate the hazard.
