NESCO American Harvest Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator
Product description
This recall involves the NESCO American Harvest Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator with model number FD-1020. Recalled dehydrators also have one of the following date codes: 09E 0610, 09E 0624 and 09E 0903.
The dehydrator has a base with several stackable trays. The top of the unit houses the electronic control module.
The model number and date code are moulded into the underside of the dehydrator's control module.
Hazard identified
A defective capacitor in the electronic control module could overheat, posing a smoke and fire hazard to consumers.
NESCO received three reports of overheating resulting in smoke or fire, with no reported injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries related to the use of these affected products.
Number sold
Approximately 1192 affected products were sold at a variety of stores across Canada and online at www.nesco.com as well as on other websites.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from July 2009 to January 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
