Product description

This recall involves the Motomaster Multi-Function Digital Compressor identified by product number 009-5078. The compressor plugs into a vehicle's 12V accessory outlet.

The "Motomaster" brand name is located at the front of the device and is sold with a 2.9 metre long cord.

Hazard identified

Canadian Tire is recalling the Motomaster Multi-Function Digital Compressor due to overheating of the 12 volt adapter when used in a car's cigarette lighter outlet over extended periods of use.

Canadian Tire has received reports of the adapter melting. No injuries or property damage has been reported.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to Canadians related to the use of these affected compressors.

Number sold

Approximately 60,807 of the recalled units were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from March 2010 to October 2011.

Consumers should immediately stop using the Motomaster Multi-Function Digital Compressor. Consumers who have purchased an affected product can return it to any Canadian Tire store with proof of purchase for a full refund.
