Product description

This recall involves Bits and Pieces Fiber Optic Christmas tree. The full foliage branches have fiber optic light strands that change colour.  Each tree comes with an AC power adapter that is attached to the gold tone coloured base that holds the tree in place. The AC power adapter plugs into a standard household outlet. The 31 inch (79 centimetres) tall tree item number is 43559. The 18 inch (46 centimetres) tall tree item number is 43560. The item numbers can be found on the UPC barcode label on the box.

Hazard identified

The AC Power adapter of the Bits and Pieces Fiber Optic Christmas trees can overheat, posing a fire hazard. 

As of January 23, 2018, the company has received no report of incidents or injury in Canada.  In the United States, the company has received 449 reports of incidents and 1 report of an injury.

Approximately 182 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

The affected product was sold from October 2017 to December 2017.
