Product description

This recall involves the Mastercraft Digital Clamp Meter identified by product number 052-0163.

The digital meter is a hand-held device with a 1.9 centimetre (¾ inch) LCD display and plastic yellow clamps on the end. The 'Mastercraft' brand name is located on the front of the device and the product is sold with black and red test leads.

Hazard identified

Canadian Tire is recalling the Mastercraft Digital Clamp Meter as a precautionary safety measure due to improper wiring within the product on some units which could lead to an inaccurate reading.

Canadian Tire and Health Canada have not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these affected meters.

Number sold

Approximately 21,573 of the recalled products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from October 2007 to October 2011.

Place of origin

Manufactured in China.
