Generation 3.0 Avalanche Airbag with a neon orange deployment handle
Product description
Generation 3.0 avalanche airbag is used with the RAS and PAS and Snowpulse Highmark brand products. It fits inside backpacks specifically designed to carry and use the airbag.
The Airbag 3.0 is often sold assembled in a backpack and can be sold as a stand-alone item.
All affected airbags have a neon orange deployment handle. Earlier models with a red deployment handle are not involved.

Hazard identified
The company has identified an airbag installation issue which can result in the airbag not deploying upon activation. This can increase the risk of burial or injury in the event of a snow avalanche, posing a hazard to the user.
As of November 16, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 1,230 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
In Canada, the affected products were sold from July 2016 to January 2018.

Consumers should immediately stop using the airbags and contact Mammut Sports Group, Inc. for repair instructions or visit the company's website. This notice was first published by Mammut in February 2018. Consumers who have previously addressed this issue do not need to take further action.
