Li'l Angels Furniture Cribs

Product description

This recall involves the convertible crib pictured below, sold under the brand name "Li'l Angels Furniture". The recalled crib has been sold under the model names "Ruby" and "Ashley". The model name can be found on the crib assembly instructions or on a pouch attached to the crib.

If the model name is not present on the crib, consumers are advised to contact Li'l Angels to determine if their crib is affected by this recall.

Hazard identified

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the recalled cribs were non-compliant with various Canadian requirements under the Cribs and Cradles Regulations (Hazardous Products Act). For example:

• Instructions provided with the crib may prevent consumers from assembling the crib properly, posing a safety risk to users of the crib;
• The crib may not have the model name, date of manufacture, and name of manufacturer.

In addition, the mattress support may not be able to lay flat when the crib is assembled in its lowest position.

Number sold

Approximately 880 of the recalled cribs were sold at baby furniture stores in Ontario and Quebec.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from 2003 to April 2010.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Slovenia and China.
