Product description

This recall involves an LED night light with fire retardant elements, plugs into an electrical outlet, has a white LED bulb and a clear cover. The night light measures about 4.5 centimetres (1.75 inches) wide by 9.5 centimetres (3.75 inches) high.

"Model SBD01", the number "E314462" and "China" are stamped on the back of the product's white base.

Hazard identified

The LED night lights can overheat, smoulder, or melt when plugged into an electrical outlet which may cause minor burns to consumers.

The firm has received five reports of the recalled LED night lights overheating, smouldering or melting when plugged into an electrical outlet. There have been no reports of injuries or property damage reported.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these night lights.

Number sold

Approximately 500 units of the affected products were distributed by Trane as a free promotional product for their customers in Ontario only.

Time period sold

The affected products were distributed from January 20, 2011 to June 27, 2011.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled night light and contact Camsing for instructions on how to return the product.
