Product description

This recall involves the Lazy Baby soft-bodied doll by Kid Connection. The doll is dressed in a cloth sleeper and cap, or similar head-wear, of various colours and patterns. The sleeper is not intended to be removed from the doll. The doll is approximately 31 cm (12 inches) in length. It is identified by item number: 71214 and UPC: 026253712149.

Hazard identified

Testing by Health Canada has revealed that the plastic tabs that hold the cap, or similar head-wear, onto the doll's head can easily detach from the toy. These small tabs pose a choking hazard to young children.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of the Lazy Baby doll.

Number sold

Approximately 207,469 of the Lazy Baby dolls were sold at Wal-Mart stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The recalled dolls were sold from March 2003 to January 2009.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately take the Lazy Baby doll away from young children and remove and dispose the two plastic tabs that hold the cap onto the doll's head.

These tabs were not intended to be part of the toy. The doll can be given back to the child after these, and any similar fasteners, have been completely removed.
