Product description
This recall involves six play yards by Kolcraft. The recalled products can be identified by the following model numbers, which can be found printed on a white sticker on one of the feet of the play yard.
- Kolcraft-brand Play Yard: Model number 76961T-GF
- "Sesame Beginnings" Play Yard: Model numbers 22361-VT and 76361-VT
- "Jeep" Play Yard: Model numbers 76235T-JC, 76225T-JC, and 76235T-JC
Hazard identified
The side-rail on the play yard can fail to latch properly. When a child pushes against the rail it can unlatch unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to children.
Kolcraft has received one report of a side rail collapsing on a one week old infant.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these play yards.
Number sold
Approximately 13,827 of the recalled play yards were sold at Real Canadian Superstores, Loblaws, Zehrs, Fortino's, Maxi & Cie, Provigo, Atlantic Superstores, TRU-Canada, and Wal-Mart retail stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from 2002 through July 2006.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
