Affected products

This recall involves the King Song KS-16S Electric Unicycle. King Song is printed on the unicycle’s pedals. The electric unicycles are matte black or black with a black tire and have multi-coloured lights that light up on the outside of the unit when in use. The serial number of affected products begins with “KS16S”. The serial number is printed on a label on both pedals. The model number KS-16S is represented by KS16S at the beginning of the serial number.

Issue

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has published a warning to consumers about the risks of battery fires with King Song electric unicycles. The CPSC is aware of one fire associated with the affected product and determined the battery pack can overheat and present a risk of fire.

As of October 19, 2022, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled electric unicycle battery and contact Smart Wheel to schedule a battery diagnostic and obtain a user manual for the product. Consumers must follow instructions in the user manual related to proper use and safety of the product.
