John Deere RSX850i Recreational Utility Vehicles

Product description

This recall involves John Deere RSX model Gator™ recreational utility vehicles with model types RSX850i Base 4X4, RSX850i Sport 4X4 and RSX850i 4X4 Trail, manufactured between May 2012 and October 2012. They have side-by-side seating for two people and were available in Realtree® Hardwoods™ HD Camo, olive and black or traditional green and yellow. The model is located on the hood.

Only utility vehicles with the below serial numbers are included in this recall. The serial number is on the rear frame above the receiver hitch.

  • 1M0850TT++M010001 through 1M0850TT++M012867

Hazard identified

The original oil filter installed in the vehicle by the engine supplier may not have been manufactured to specification and may leak. This could lead to oil leaking or spraying onto the exhaust manifold or pipe, creating a risk fire causing injury and/or damage to property.

Deere & Company has received two reports of incidents related to these products in Canada.

Health Canada has received no reports of incidents  or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these utility vehicles.

Number sold

Approximately 183 of the recalled utility vehicles were sold in Canada at John Deere dealers nationwide.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from August 2012 to January 2013.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled utility vehicles and contact the nearest John Deere dealer after 15 February 2013 to make arrangements to have the utility vehicle repaired. This service will be performed at no cost to the customer.
