Product description
This recall involves mobile audio amplifier for cars with model number HD750/1, sold under the brand name "JL Audio" by Gem-Sen Distribution.
Hazard identified
The rectifier diode in location D519 of the circuit board is defective, which can short out and produce excessive heat capable of causing damage to the circuit board. This can pose a potential fire hazard.
Neither Health Canada nor Gem-Sen Distribution has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this amplifier.
Number sold
Approximately 154 of the recalled products were sold at Gem-Sen Distribution stores in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from October 2008 to July 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled amplifier and return the product to Gem-Sen Distribution, who will then send the amplifier to JL Audio Inc. for repair.
