Product description
This recall involves personal hand-held 1600-2000-watt hair dryers in various colours (black, white, white pearl, peacock, white zebra, pink leopard, blue, and giraffe). The bottom rear of the hair dryers has a printed label with "ISO" or "Proliss" brand names and model number HD-1820.
Hazard identified
The cord may become brittle near the base of the dryer, posing a burn hazard.
As of January 10, 2018, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 35 reports of the dryers sparking or smoking, including 3 reported burn injuries to hands or fingers.
Number sold
Approximately 1,000 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and approximately 73,000 were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled hair dryers were sold in Canada from March 2013 to January 2018 at Winners and by Groupon Canada.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

What you should do
Consumers should stop using the recalled hair dryers immediately and contact ISO Beauty to receive a credit for a replacement product.
