Issue
Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program project has revealed that multiple IPPINKA charcoal products do not meet the warning label requirements under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA). The CCPSA requires warning labels be in both English and French. The IPPINKA Binchotan Lump Charcoal products are missing the English and French warning labels.
Charcoal produces carbon monoxide. This can be toxic if it is burned inside or in an area without ventilation, posing a suffocation hazard to users. Warning labels help to protect the public by informing them of this hazard.
As of September 3rd, 2021, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Customers should immediately stop using the charcoal products and contact IPPINKA for a revised warning label.
