Wendy Bellissimo 3937500H7, 3937501H7

Hazard identified

Health Canada and the US CPSC are concerned that, the fabric of the sling and adult's body can press against the infant's nose and mouth blocking breathing; this poses a risk of suffocation or asphyxiation.

The US CPSC has received 3 reports that infants died while in SlingRiders.

Health Canada has not received any reports of deaths or injuries related to the use of the sling.

On March 12, 2010, Health Canada released an advisory to remind parents to exercise caution when using infant sling and soft infant carriers. For more information pertaining to the advisory, please visit: Health Canada Reminds Parents to Exercise Caution When Using Infant Slings and Soft Infant Carriers.

The US CPSC also released an advisory on slings on March 12, 2010. Consumers may view the release by the US CPSC on the Commission's website .
