Product description
This recall involves the IKEA MYSINGSÖ beach chair. The foldable, outdoor chair is made of a fabric seat and a foldable wooden frame. It was sold in multiple colour variations: light red, light blue, grey, green, white, red, red/blue and assorted colours.
Hazard identified
The fabric seat on the recalled beach chair can be re-assembled incorrectly, resulting in the chair collapsing during use, posing a fall or finger entrapment hazard to consumers.
As of January 19, 2017, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. IKEA has received 13 reports worldwide of incidents, including 10 reports of injuries, six of which resulted in fingertip amputations.
Number sold
Approximately 7 625 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled chairs were sold in Canada from February 2013 to January 2017.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the MYSINGSÖ beach chair and return it to an IKEA store for a full refund.
