Product description
This recall involves two models of HOMCOM Portable Bioethanol Fireplaces. The HOMCOM Model 820-020BK Portable Table Top Fireplace has a black bottom base with two glass barriers and a stainless steel fuel reservoir. The HOMCOM Model 820-017 Freestanding Fireplace has a square white shape with two glass barriers and a stainless steel fuel reservoir.

Hazard identified
The recalled products do not meet the labelling requirements for consumer chemical products required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001, under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
The portable fireplaces lack the required precautionary labelling required for containers sold with the intention of being filled with a hazardous chemical product such as bioethanol fuel. The lack of appropriate labelling information could result in unintentional exposure to the product and lead to serious illness, injury or death.
As of June 16, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Approximately 29 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from August 2019 to October 2019.
