Product description
This recall involves high bay and low bay lighting fixtures by Thomas Lighting Canada. The catalogue numbers for the recalled luminaries start with DHO, DHE, and NAT-DHO. The hooks on the product are white in colour.
Luminaries with the label "Hook approved 11/25/08" attached to either the ballast housing or the outside of the carton have been reworked to include a new replacement hook and are not included in this recall. All new stock from China has a new hook.
Hazard identified
The hook on the luminary can fail, creating a potential risk for serious injury.
Thomas Lighting Canada has received reports of seven faulty hooks, with no injuries or damage.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these lighting fixtures.
Number sold
Approximately 20,755 of the recalled products were sold by electrical distributors in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled lighting fixtures were distributed from June 2007 to January 2009.
