Hazard identified

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has revealed that the recalled roller shades pose a strangulation hazard by not having a tension device attached to the looped bead chain. Without a tension device securely holding the loop taut, young children may pull the bead chain around their neck, posing a risk of strangulation. The blinds also do not have the required bilingual warning labels or year of manufacture listed on the product.

Neither Health Canada nor Jean H. Henlé has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these blinds.

For more information on the hazard, see Blind Cord Safety.

Number sold

Approximately 400 of the recalled blinds were sold in Canada since 2010.

Time period sold

The recalled products were sold from 2010 to February 2013.
