Affected products

This alert involves UberBoost Inflatable Booster Car Seats in various colour combinations and sold under the following Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASIN): B07R6NVP770, B07RR7ZYGY and B07RB2KRCS.

Issue

Health Canada has determined that the use of these restraints in a motor vehicle could increase the risk of injury in the event of a collision.

These products do not display Transport Canada's National Safety Mark and therefore have not been certified to meet the safety requirements of the Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems and Booster Seats Safety Regulations.

The use of these restraints in a motor vehicle is illegal under provincial and territorial highway regulations.

What you should do

Consumers who have these affected products should immediately stop using them and safely dispose of the items in such a way that they cannot be used again.

Regularly check the Healthy Canadians Recalls and Safety Alerts database for dangerous products and take action to remove items of concern.

Health Canada would like to remind consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to the use of these products or any other consumer product or cosmetic by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.

What is being done

The products have been removed from sale online from the website Amazon.ca. Health Canada has contacted the foreign selling companies and is advising consumers to immediately stop using the affected UberBoost Inflatable Booster Car Seat.

Amazon reported that 272 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

To date, no incidents or injuries related to this product have been reported to Health Canada. 

Health Canada is committed to helping protect consumers from potentially dangerous consumer products. The Department regularly tests consumer products available for sale in stores or online and continues to monitor products to help keep consumers safe.
