Product description
This recall involves batch 1007057 of three different raincoat styles :
- Polka Dot Splash Jacket (RC8PODO004)
- Pink Splash Jacket (RC8PIGR001)
- Red Splash Jacket (RC8PHBO1)
The raincoats have snap buttons with a round plastic button covering. The batch number is identified on the label of the coat.
Hazard identified
Hatley has determined that the round plastic covering on the snap buttons may detach from the raincoats, posing a choking hazard to young children.
In cooperation with Health Canada, Hatley is voluntarily recalling the raincoats.
Hatley has received seven reports in the United States and two in Canada of the round plastic covering on the snap buttons detaching from the raincoat. No injuries were reported.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 773 of the recalled products in sizes 4X to 12X were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold in August and September 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled raincoat with Production Order number 1007057 and return it to the retailer where it was purchased for a full refund.
