Product description
This recall involves three miniature paperboard books, each with a plastic handle designed as a baby rattle. The white handle contains multi-coloured rings.
The "animals" book title is green and has a photograph of a stuffed bear. The "numbers" book title is red and has a photograph of a stuffed monkey. The "colours" book title is multicoloured and has a photograph of a stuffed blue dog with a white eye patch.

Hazard identified
The styrofoam material used to affix the plastic handle/baby rattle to the book can become separated from the book binding when pulled at or chewed. The releasable pieces of styrofoam pose choking and aspiration hazards to infants and young children.
Health Canada has not received reports of illness or injury to Canadians as related to the use of these books.

Number sold
Approximately 501 units of the recalled books were sold at specialty stores across Canada and about 15,100 were distributed in the United States.
Time period sold
The recalled books were sold from October 2009 to February 2010.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately take the recalled books away from young children and return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
