Good Neigh Bear® by State Farm
Product description
This recall involves State Farm Good Neigh Bear® plush teddy bears. These plush bears are approximately 28 cm (11 inches) or 46 cm (18 inches) in height, and wear a red and white T-shirt with the State Farm logo on the front and Good Neigh Bear® logo on the back. The bears have black plastic eye attachments.
Good Neigh Bears® with embroidered eyes are not included in this recall as they do not pose this hazard.
Hazard identified
Testing by State Farm has revealed that the hard plastic eyes on the 28 cm Good Neigh Bear® can easily detach from the toy; these small parts pose a choking hazard to young children.
In cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Health Canada, State Farm is voluntarily extending the recall to include the 46 cm Good Neigh Bear® toy, as it may present the same hazard.
State Farm received one report of an incident in the United States, where a hard plastic eye came off the bear, and a child had it in their mouth; the child was not injured. Neither State Farm nor Health Canada have received any reports of injuries or incidents to Canadians related to the use of the Good Neigh Bears®.
