This recall involves GNU Snowboard bindings in men’s, youth, and women’s sizes. The brand name “GNU” is imprinted on the front of the straps or on the baseplate. The SKU number can be found on the model sticker located on the original packaging. The following styles and SKU numbers are included in the recall:

Hazard identified
The ankle straps can break posing a fall hazard.
Mervin Manufacturing has received 30 reports of the binding straps breaking.
No injury reports have been received by Mervin Manufacturing, Health Canada, or the US CPSC.
Number sold
Approximately 1200 pairs of the recalled product were sold in Canada, and 6800 pairs were sold in the United States at various sporting goods stores.
Time period sold
In Canada and the United States, the recalled products were sold from August 2012 to March 2013.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Slovakia.
