Immediately stop using the recalled bicycle helmet and return the helmet to Giro for a free replacement.

Affected products

This recall involves men’s and women's Giro Merit bicycle helmets. The helmet comes in matte white, matte black, matte harbor blue, and matte portaro grey, matte metallic black, matte ano harbor blue, matte black ice dye colours.

The model's name "Merit" can be found at the outer rear of the helmet. The model's name and alphanumeric identifier GH230 can also be found on a sticker inside the helmet.

Only helmets made prior to January 2023 are included in this recall.

Issue

The helmet straps may detach from the helmet causing the helmet to dislodge from the users head. During an accident, the user’s head may not be protected.

As of March 1, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received no reports of incidents and no reports of injuries.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the helmet and return the helmet to Giro for a free replacement.
