Product description

This recall involves the 2017 model of Ghost Nivolet X 5 LC 28 bicycle that was sold by Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC). Only 2017 models sold by MEC with disk brakes within the G number range of GC0000932 to GC0001506, and GHQ557994 are affected.

The G number of the bicycle is located on the bottom bracket shell of the bicycle as shown.

Hazard identified

The carbon forks on these road bikes can break posing a fall hazard.

As of June 20, 2019, MEC has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

Number sold

Approximately 50 units of the affected product were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from March 2017 to May 2018.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the affected bicycles and bring it to any MEC location for the installation of a replacement fork.

Thursday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. PST
