Product description
This recall involves certain GE®, GE Profile™, Moffat® and Beaumark® brand plastic tub dishwashers with front controls. The models were sold in black, white, bisque, stainless steel and CleanSteel® exterior colours and finishes.

Hazard identified
An electrical failure in the dishwasher's heating element can pose a fire hazard.
GE has received 15 reports (three of which occurred in Canada) where the dishwasher heating element failed, seven of which resulted in fire and smoke damage beyond the unit. No injuries have been reported in Canada.
Health Canada has received no reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these dishwashers.
Number sold
Approximately 90,400 units of the affected dishwashers were sold across Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold between March 2006 through August 2009.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Canada and the United States.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwasher and contact Mabe to schedule a free service repair.
