This recall involves Geomag PRO magnetic constructions sets made of small powerful magnetic rods that combine with metal beads to build geometrical shapes and patterns.

Hazard identified
The toy contains small powerful magnetic rods that can be swallowed. When more than one powerful magnet is swallowed in a short period of time, the magnets can attract one another while moving through the intestines. This can cause the intestines to twist, creating blockages or tearing of the intestinal walls.
The results of swallowing small powerful magnets can be very serious and life-threatening. Swallowing incidents have often resulted in considerable damage to the gastrointestinal tissues and required emergency surgical treatment. For survivors, there can be serious lifelong health problems.
Neither Health Canada nor Geomagworld SA has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these products in Canada.

Number sold
Approximately 336 units of the recalled products were sold on Amazon.ca and at various retailers across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from December 2014 to October 2016.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled magnet sets away from children and return them to where they were purchased for a free replacement set of equal value.
