Product description
This recall involves the General Electric®-Branded 14-cup Food Processor with model number 169224 by Walmart Canada Corp. The food processors are black with stainless steel. The model number can be found on the base of the unit.
Hazard identified
There is a potential failure of the product's safety interlock system, allowing the food processor to be operated without the lid in place, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.
Walmart Canada has received 3 reports of the food processor engaging without the lid in place resulting in laceration injuries to the user's fingers.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these affected food processors.
Number sold
Approximately 18,983 units of the affected food processors were sold exclusively at Walmart Canada stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The affected food processors were sold August 2009 to December 2010.
