Product description

This recall involves the Garrison 1500W low profile baseboard heater, identified by product number 43-5851. The unit is a convection heater with thermostat, and contains two heat settings.

Hazard identified

This voluntary recall has been initiated as a precautionary measure due to overheating of the internal circuitry in some units.

Canadian Tire has received 11 reports of units overheating. There have been no reported incidents of injury.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these baseboard heaters.

Number sold

Approximately 13,339 units of the affected baseboard heaters were sold at Canadian Tire stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The affected baseboard heaters were sold from January 2011 to February 2012.
