Product description
This recall involves the Fusion Canada 51-centimetre (20-inch) Box Fan. The recalled box fan is available in white and silver with the "FC" logo in the centre.
It can be identified by the FC item number 57020, model number HF-20B, and date code 1210.
Hazard identified
An electrical component in the product can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
ESA has received one report of a fan that overheated and caught fire. No injuries have been reported.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of the affected fan.
Number sold
Approximately 6,452 units of the affected fans were sold at Wal-Mart stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from January 20, 2011 to June 22, 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
