Ottawa, September 6, 2018 - The food recall warning issued on August 31, 2018, has been updated to include additional distribution information. This additional information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) food safety investigation.
Monco Produce Inc. is recalling fresh lychees from the marketplace because they contain sulphites which are not declared on the label. People with a sensitivity to sulphites should not consume the recalled product described below.
The affected product was sold in bulk or may have been packed by retail stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and possibly other provinces or territories. Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased affected product should check with their retail store.
What you should do
Check to see if you have recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
If you have a sensitivity to sulphites, do not consume the recalled product as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction.
