Product description

The recall involves By the Fire Hearth Products – Glass Fireplace Glass Cleaner packaged in a 225 mL bottle with a UPC 841341000034. 

Hazard identified

The recalled product does not have the proper consumer chemical labelling required by the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001 under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.

By the Fire Hearth Products – Glass Fireplace Cleaner lacks the labelling requirements for products that have been classified as flammable.

This lack of labelling information, including appropriate warnings, could result in unintentional exposure to these products and lead to serious illness, injury or death.

As of February 12, 2019, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

Approximately 11,361 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected products were sold from January 2009 to February 2019.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the products and dispose of them according to their municipal waste requirements or contact The Foundry for a correct label.
