Forever-Glo Cylinder Nite Lites
Product description
This recall involves "Forever-Glo Cylinder Nite Lites", which are cylinder shaped night lights with a white base. The light is approximately 10 centimetres (4 inches) in height by 4 centimetres (1-1/2 inches) wide.
Only lights with model number 71107 and a manufacturer code "SY" is included in this recall. The model number and manufacturer code are printed on the back of the night light.
Hazard identified
A short circuit in the night light can cause it to overheat and smoulder or melt; this poses burn and fire hazards to consumers.
AmerTac has received nine reports from the United States of the recalled night lights smoking, burning, melting and/or charring. However, there have been no reported injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries related to the use of these affected products.
Number sold
Approximately 10,000 affected units were sold at Rona stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The affected units were sold from May 2009 to September 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
