Product description
This recall involves fluorescent portable lamps that were manufactured by Guangzhou Glorious Lighting Ltd. The recalled products can be identified by model number 15844-001.
The base of the lamp has a holographic label with the UL and c-UL icons and:

Hazard identified
The recalled lamps may overheat around the lamp holder, causing the surrounding plastic material to soften and deform, possibly ignite, and expose live electrical parts to the consumer. This poses a shock and fire hazard to consumers.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these portable lamps.

The number of recalled lamps sold in Canada is not known.
However, it is known that the product was sold at home supply stores and may have been sold by other retailers as well.
Time period sold
The time period during which the product was sold is not known. However, the lamps are known to have been manufactured in 2007.
