Product description
This recall involves Fluke voltage testers which look like a pen with a yellow, white and gray body. The testers measure 90 to 1000 volts alternating current (VAC). The word "Fluke" and the model number are printed on the front of each unit.
The product can be identified by the model number Fluke-1AC-I VoltAlert® Voltage Tester and the product marking 1AC-AI.
Hazard identified
The testers can fail to give an indication of live voltage, resulting in the operator falsely believing the electrical power is off, posing a risk of serious injury or death from electrical shock or thermal burns.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these filters.
Number sold
Approximately 608 of the recalled products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from September 2009 to February 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in the United States of America.
