Product description
This recall involves Fit & Fresh Smooth Blend Mixers with item number 770FF and model number SB-19. These white mixers have four components: a base unit, a blade assembly, a blending cup, and a lid. Fit & Fresh is printed on the front of the base and on the cup.
The mixers that are being recalled can be identified by the date code, a four-digit number located on the bottom of the base. Date codes included in the recall are: 2707, 4407, 5207, 0308, and 0508.
Hazard identified
If the unit is plugged in, the blades can be unexpectedly turned on, activating the blades while placing the cup on or off the base. This poses a serious laceration hazard to consumers.
Medport has received two reports of finger lacerations that required medical treatment.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these Fit & Fresh Smooth Blend Mixers.
Number sold
Approximately 4,028 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from October 2007 to September 2008.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
