Finger Puppets made by Jal Enterprises

Product description

This recall involves finger puppets made out of felt, with hard plastic googly eyes attached with glue. The packaging in which the puppet is sold has the words "Puppet Pals Finger Puppets" and "Jal Enterprises" on it. The puppets were sold both individually and as a set of 4 in story sets.

The recalled puppets come in the shape of animals and people; some are Halloween or Christmas-themed.

The story sets are based on the following fairy tales: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Ridinghood, Three Billy Goats Gruff, and the Three Little Pigs.

Hazard identified

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has identified that the hard plastic eyes on the felt puppet can detach easily; these small parts pose a choking hazard to young children.

Neither Jal Enterprises nor Health Canada has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these toys.

For some tips to help consumers choose safe toys and to help them keep children safe when they play with toys, see Health Canada's Toy Safety Tips.
