Product description
This recall involves the EZ Fold Step Stool identified by the following model numbers:
- 042-3207;
- 142-6018;
- 142-6019;
- 199-1788.
The EZ Fold Step Stool was available in white, black, blue and green.
Hazard identified
This recall has been initiated as a precautionary measure as a result of reported incidents of customer misuse.
Seven product incidents have been reported to Canadian Tire. Minor injuries have been reported in connection with some incidents.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these tools.
Number sold
Approximately 700,000 units of the recalled step stools were sold in Canadian Tire Stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold at Canadian Tire stores across Canada from:
- July 2004 to February 2012 for model number 042-3207;
- July 2011 to February 2012 for model number 199-1788;
- August 2011 to February 2012 for model numbers 142-6018 and 142-6019.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
