Product description
This recall involves Permatex® Rust Dissolver Gel which is intended to dissolve rust on metals and alloys and rinse off with water. The product is in a 236 mL cylindrical bottle with screw cap and foil seal. The dimensions are approximately 12 cm high and 6 cm in diameter. The product has a rust/silver coloured label.
Please note that this is an expanded recall involving item numbers not included in the previous recall.

Hazard identified
The recalled product does not meet the labelling and child-resistant packaging requirements for consumer chemical products as set out in the Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, 2001.
As of January 3, 2018, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
Number sold
Approximately 73,819 units of the affected products were sold in Canada, of which 9,822 were involved in the previous recall.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 4, 2008 to December 19, 2017.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return the product to the original location of purchase or dispose at the nearest Municipal Household Hazardous Waste Depot.
