Product description
This recall involves Contigo Kids Cleanable water bottles. Only water bottles with a black colour spout base and black colour spout cover are included in this recall. Contigo is printed on the rim and along the front near the bottom of the bottle. The water bottles come in three sizes (13 ounce, 14 ounce and 20 ounce) and four bottle colors (solid color, graphics, stainless steel and stainless steel solid colors). The water bottles were sold individually as well as in two-packs and three-packs.
Hazard identified
The water bottle's clear silicone spout can detach, posing a choking hazard to children.
As of February 17, 2020, the company has received 81 reports of the spout detaching in Canada, and no reports of injuries. In the United States, the company has received 427 reports of the spout detaching and no reports of injuries.
Number sold
Approximately 157,000 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and approximately 5.7 million were sold in the United States.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold in Canada and the United States from April 2018 to February 7, 2020.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles and contact Contigo to return the affected product and obtain a free replacement product.
