Affected products

Various Dressers, Night Tables and Chests

Product description

This recall involves various dressers, night tables and chests sold between June 2010 and June 2016.  The affected products were of various dimensions and colours.  The affected products were sold on their own and as part of collections containing other unaffected products.

The recalled products were sold with the following model names:

Ava, Avatar, Belize, Billie, Birch Combo, Brody, Carerra, Carson, Chandler, Chelsea, Colin, Devon, Elena, Elijah, Elle, Fynn, Hampton, Isabel, Kenwood, Luas, London, Louis Phillipe, Madeline, Michael, Nolin, Preston, Soho, Veronic.

The model name and date code can be found on a label on the top right corner at the back of the product or on the product packaging.

Hazard identified

The affected products may tip-over if not securely anchored to the wall, posing an entrapment hazard.

As of March 30, 2017, the company has received three reports of the furniture tipping over in Canada, and no reports of injuries.

Number sold

Approximately 10,772 units of the affected products were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The products were sold between June 2010 and June 2016 at retailers across Canada.

Place of origin

Manufactured in Vietnam and Thailand.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products, move them to an area where children cannot access them and contact Caramia Furniture Ltd. to obtain free tip over restraint kits to secure the dresser and night table to the wall.

Please note that the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act prohibits recalled products from being redistributed, sold or even given away in Canada.
