Product description
This recall involves unscented tea light candles sold under the brand name "Everyday Essentials™". The tea lights are sold in packages of 100 units, and can be identified by the following UPCs:
- 057197356366
- 060383867164
Hazard identified
The flame from the tea lights can become very high, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
Loblaw Companies Limited has received 7 reports of the flame from the tea lights becoming very high, with one of these incidents resulting in minor injury.
Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries in Canada related to the use of these products.
Number sold
Approximately 103,400 units of the recalled tea lights were sold in Canada at Loblaw corporate, franchise and affiliated independent stores.
Time period sold
The recalled tea lights were sold from August 2010 to April 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
