Product description
This recall involves electronic thermostats identified by a manufacturing date of 1108 and the following model numbers:
- STE402NPW
- STE402NPW5
- STE402NPW24
- STE403NPW24
The manufacturing date and model numbers are visible on the lower back of the units.
Hazard identified
Due to a production process error, upon installation the recalled units could smoke or develop soot, posing a fire hazard to the consumer.
Neither Stelpro Design nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these thermostats.
Number sold
Approximately 10,000 units of the affected products were sold in Quebec only.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from August 10, 2011 to September 1, 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in Canada.
