Product description

This recall involves the Eat High Chair, model BH2104 (located on a label at the back of the high chair), sold in 3 different colours: orange, red and black.

The word “babyhome” is printed on one leg of the chair and the word “eat” is printed on the opposite leg of the chair. There is a printed white “babyhome” logo shaped like a backwards letter “h” on the seatback.  The high chairs have a nylon fabric seat with a plastic tray and metal frame. The high chairs measure about 91 centimetres (36 inches) high and 61 centimetres (24 inches) wide.

The affected products can be identified using the item number BH14, and lot number BH00301/01-2012, BH00303/07-2012, or BH00304/09-2012 which are located on a sticker affixed to the bottom of the footrest.

Hazard identified

The front opening between the tray and seat bottom of the high chair can allow a child’s body to pass through and become entrapped at the neck. This poses a strangulation hazard to young children when the child is not harnessed.

Neither Health Canada nor Kushies Baby has received any reports of incidents or injuries to children related to the use of this high chair.

Number sold

Approximately 30 units of the affected high chairs were sold in Canada.

Time period sold

The affected high chairs were sold from July 2012 to February 2013.
