Product description
This recall involves Duramaxx 5-ton electric log splitters. The log splitters are silver and black. The following log splitters are included in this recall.

The model number and item number are printed on the power switch label at the rear of the log splitter. The name "Duramaxx" is printed on the side rail of the log splitters.
Hazard identified
The hydraulic arm on the log splitter that slides under the handle used to move the machine can amputate fingertips or lacerate fingers if an individual grasps the handle while the log splitter is operating.
Changzhou Globe Tool Group Co. Ltd has received two reports of injuries including a fingertip amputation and a finger laceration. Both individuals were injured after placing their hands on the handle of an operating log splitter.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these log splitters.
Number sold
Approximately 260 units of the affected products were sold at Lowe's stores across Canada.
Time period sold
The affected products were sold from January 2010 to March 2011.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.
