Affected products
This recall involves Delta Shutters Inc., Dual shade and Roller shade corded window coverings. The model number Dual Shade-B-Kani (D/Green) or Roller Shades-A-Taka 3(01) can be found at the top of the valence. The Delta Shutters logo "Delta Shutters and blinds" is adjacent to the warning label located on the bottom rail.
Issue
Health Canada has determined that the recalled blinds do not meet the Corded Window Coverings Regulations and pose a strangulation hazard. Young children may pull looped cords around their neck, or become entangled in the cords, causing a strangulation hazard and even death.
Children can become entangled in blinds cords, which can quickly lead to strangulation and even death. Health Canada recommends cordless window coverings. For more information on the hazard, see Blind Cord Safety.
As of December 7th, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Dual Shade and Roller Shade corded window coverings manufactured by Delta Shutters, Inc and contact Delta Shutters Inc., for a repair kit. A Delta Shutters technician may be requested to assist with the repair. Keep exposed chain away from children.
