Product description
This recall involves all drop-side cribs sold under the brand name "Delta". The recalled cribs have one of the following model numbers: 4842-2, 4842-41, 4842-42, 4857-1, 4857-3, or 4857-4.
Hazard identified
The crib's drop-side hardware can break or become damaged, causing the drop-side to detach. If the drop-side detaches, it could create a space between the side of the crib and the mattress. Infants and toddlers could roll into this space and may become entrapped, which could lead to suffocation or strangulation, or they could fall out of the crib.
Health Canada has received 2 reports with no injuries related to the use of these cribs. Delta has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
Parents and caregivers are reminded to check their baby's drop-side crib regularly. They are instructed not to use it if any parts are loose or missing, or if there are any signs of damage to the drop-side hardware. Only parts obtained from the original manufacturer must be used for repairs. Do not repair broken parts with tape, wire, or rope. Contact the manufacturer if replacement parts or additional instructions are needed.

What you should do
Consumers should carefully examine the drop-side hardware for any signs of damage. If consumers determine that the drop-side hardware is broken, loose, missing, or deformed, or if there are any other reasons for concern, consumers should immediately stop using the recalled cribs and find an alternative safe sleeping environment for their baby.
Consumers should not return the crib. Delta is offering a free retrofit kit to affected consumers. However, due to the unavailability of a parameters involved in the testing, Health Canada remains unable to assess the retrofit kit.
For more information, consumers may contact Delta at 1-877-342-3418 or by visiting the Delta recall website.
